(Patria) - There were no injured BiH citizens in Iran, and after Israel launched a series of precise coordinated attacks deep into the territory of that country this morning, this is the data available to the Embassy of BiH in Tehran.
In the attacks on Iran early on Friday, Israel hit both strategic and military targets and killed key commanders and scientists.
The Ambassador of BiH to Tehran, Nijaz Čardaklija, told Hayat that these are the strongest Israeli strikes on Iran so far. He points out that the targets were high-ranking military officials.
The aim was to decapitate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and its economic levers; nuclear facilities in the south, far from Tehran, were targeted. The director of the largest Iranian company that financed the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps was killed. The Embassy is in contact with BiH citizens, we had one meeting yesterday, we will have another today, all flights are cancelled, you cannot buy train or bus tickets, they are sold out, but there are no calls for evacuation. We have a colleague at IOM, everyone has our contacts at the Embassy – says Čardaklija.
Israeli attacks caused damage in residential areas in Tehran. Čardaklija says the situation in the city is currently calm.
Last night around 4 AM I was awake, the night before we had a strong thunderstorm, so I didn't even realize it was Israeli strikes on Iran. For now, everything is normal, there is no panic among BiH citizens. Tehran is not a war zone, there are no military targets there, they are located very far away, either to the south or to the east, unless strikes start on civilian targets. At this moment, the Embassy sees no reason to relocate or close. Our citizens were not in danger, they were not even close to the strikes, they continue to work as before – says the ambassador.
There is no information or warning whether the attacks will continue, but, as he states, according to the statements of Israeli officials, it seems that they will.
Netanyahu called on citizens to prepare food and water supplies, and he said that Israel will continue with the strikes. The biggest question is how US officials will react, I think a lot depends on them. It depends on the negotiations regarding Iran's military nuclear program, I think Israel's goal is to prevent the continuation of these negotiations – concluded Čardaklija for Hayat.ba.
