US Embassy: Conclusions adopted at the 'All-Serb Assembly' are a deliberate attack on the Dayton Agreement and state institutions of BiH

(Patria) - The US Embassy in BiH issued a statement tonight on social media regarding the "All-Serb Assembly", held over the past weekend in Belgrade.

"The conclusions adopted at the 'All-Serb Assembly', which relate to the Dayton Peace Agreement and the independent state of BiH, are rooted in legal disinformation and riddled with error.

They do not constitute a defense of the Dayton Peace Agreement, as the authors claim, but are a deliberate attack on that agreement and the state institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This is very dangerous.

Public statements by RS officials, especially RS President Dodik and RS National Assembly President Stevandić, regarding the conclusions and plans for the 'disassociation' of the RS, another name for secession, also represent an attack on Dayton and the territorial integrity, sovereignty, and multi-ethnic character of BiH.

The Dayton Peace Agreement and the Constitution of BiH explicitly state that Bosnia and Herzegovina is the successor state of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina with its internal structure modified to consist of two entities.

Neither the Dayton Agreement nor the Constitution of BiH grant entities, or any other sub-state body, the right to secession, 'disassociation', or any other clumsy synonym for secession invented by RS officials.

The RS is not a state and can only exist within Bosnia and Herzegovina. It has no legal subjectivity outside of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Dodik's plans and actions endanger the peaceful, democratic, and prosperous future in Euro-Atlantic institutions that the citizens of BiH, including the residents of the RS, want and deserve," the US Embassy in BiH stated.
