Alispahić files criminal complaint against Halilović: They falsely report me and call for public lynching

Bakir Alispahić has filed a criminal complaint with the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office against BPS president Sefer Halilović and the party's representative in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, Semir Halilović, for false reporting, writes the Patria news agency.

For a long period, starting from 1996 until today, Sefer Halilović, and more recently Semir Halilović, have been linking Alispahić to the death of their family members in 1993 without any evidence in their media appearances.

In 1999, Sefer Halilović filed a criminal complaint against Alispahić with the competent prosecutor's office, falsely linking him to the 1993 incident. The Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office dismissed Halilović's complaint as unfounded on April 16, 1999.

After that, Halilović submitted a request to the Sarajevo Canton Court to conduct an investigation against Alispahić and several other individuals for the alleged criminal act of genocide.

The Sarajevo Canton Court rejected this request as unfounded on January 24, 2000, and Halilović appealed to the Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which also dismissed the appeal as unfounded on April 18, 2001.

Although all competent judicial instances dismissed Sefer Halilović's reports, he and Semir Halilović continued their media campaign against Alispahić, this time abusing their positions—the first as president of a political party, and the second as a cantonal representative.

- In recent months, both Halilovićs have continued to spread lies about me, all for the insatiable need to participate in power - Alispahić's complaint states, among other things.

Alispahić believes, as stated in the complaint, that Sefer Halilović's statement from July 31 this year, when he said that "as a suspect for the assassination of the Halilović family, he will soon find himself in complete disfavor of all those who have so far, in one way or another, protected and supported him," is not only a false report but also a public call for lynching and a threat to security.
