Alija Izetbegović warned: Dishonest people have infiltrated the SDA, push them out of the party

The first President of the Presidency of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the late Alija Izetbegović, warned in one of his speeches that there are people who travel the world at the expense of Bosnia and Herzegovina and gain personal material benefit, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria (NAP). Such a thing is by no means good for the reputation of BiH and its citizens.

He said that Bosnia was a major topic in the world for a time, and that anything could be obtained in the world in the name of Bosnia. Izetbegović pointed out that this was not his merit, or the merit of Silajdžić (Haris), or any other politician. Such a status, Izetbegović said, Bosnia earned through its suffering.

In the president's address, which lasted more than an hour and about which little is known publicly, Izetbegović warned that the doors of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA), of which he was the first president, had opened too wide and that dishonest people had infiltrated the party.

- Push those people out of the party. And, when it comes to opening the party (opening the SDA to new members), do not leave so many doors open that dishonest people slip in. I think we have had no criteria in that direction, and we are justifiably sometimes slandered, criticized, and attempts are made to score political points, so they say that such and such a man is in the SDA – warned Izetbegović. He emphasized that one should especially be wary of those people who are "smeared in 17 colors" and to whom the mark or dollar stuck to their hand when they passed through their hands, and such people are abundant, writes Patria.

Izetbegović admitted that he loved honest people the most, even though such people are of a difficult nature and are most often, as he said, stubborn to the point that he himself did not speak with them for several days, but because of their honesty he loved them and gladly kept them as his first associates, writes Patria.
