Operation 'Where are you driving, Radovan' and congratulations on the failed arrest: Issue an urgent warrant for common sense!

While the special forces of the Brčko District Police were trying to arrest the Prime Minister of Republika Srpska, Radovan Višković, last night in the operation "Where are you driving, Radovan", Višković, as befits a true politician on the run, elegantly disappeared. In fact, he wasn't even in the stopped convoy.

According to unofficial information, he activated 'escape mode', evaded the escort, and as legend has it, boarded a helicopter. Because, what is a helicopter if not a taxi for high-ranking officials with court summons? The MUP of Sarajevo Canton knows this too, which is why they are easily spending millions of BAM on establishing a helicopter unit. Why should Višković have a helicopter, and the Sarajevo Prime Minister not have the same luxury? And given how they arrest ministers in the Government of Sarajevo Canton, it's not as if a helicopter wouldn't be useful.

More special forces participated in the operation, two ambulances (because you never know when someone might need an infusion out of excitement), but the legendary ambush failed. Just like most of our reform strategies.

But the plot doesn't end there.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives of the FBiH, Dragan Mioković, congratulated the Brčko District police on, mind you, the failed arrest.

"Better luck next time. It will happen!!!", Mioković stated, as if cheering on a team that missed an open goal in extra time.

And while the dust from the "attempted arrest" had not yet settled, Istraga.ba published photos from the recent celebration of the Police Day of Republika Srpska, and lo and behold, standing shoulder to shoulder with the very fugitives the police are allegedly arresting, is the Director of the Brčko District Police, Goran Pisić! He is, of course, an SNSD cadre.

Warrants had already been issued then. But it seems that warrants in our country are only valid in theory. In practice, they are all still in the front rows of protocol, smiling, without a pang of conscience.

And the promise of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Elmedin Konaković, that someone would bring down Dodik's helicopter if it flew over the Federation, has long since become part of the treasury of hasty words spoken by the ruling party.

And the Brčko District police and those who congratulate the unsuccessful arrest attempt?

Well, after all, the only thing left for them is to issue a warrant for common sense.
