(Patria) - A successful voluntary blood donation drive was held at the premises of the Transfusion Medicine Institute of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The drive was jointly organized by the Transfusion Medicine Institute of FBiH, the Red Cross of FBiH, the Red Cross of Centar Sarajevo Municipality, and the "Heart for Children with Cancer" Association.
106 voluntary donors responded to the call, providing valuable support for children with cancer, for whom blood and blood component transfusions are often essential during treatment.
The treatment process for children with cancer presents a significant physical and psychological challenge. Aggressive therapies weaken the child's body, disrupt blood counts, and lead to a decrease in the number of blood cells necessary for normal bodily functions.
In such situations, blood transfusions and its derivatives play a crucial role in saving lives. Each donated unit of blood brings new hope and additional strength to these little fighters.
"We extend our sincere gratitude to all donors who, through their selfless act, demonstrated humanity and solidarity. We also thank all organizers and volunteers who contributed to the successful realization of this drive with their engagement.
We call on citizens to recognize the importance of blood donation in the future and to support similar humanitarian initiatives, as even the smallest drop of blood can make the difference between life and death," stated the "Heart for Children with Cancer" Association.
