Ahatović for NAP on Dodik, helicopter and Milanović: A humiliation for all those who gave their lives for the freedom of Croatian skies

(Patria) - The President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, met with Croatian President Zoran Milanović in Hvar on Tuesday.

Officially, this visit was not announced at all, and the information that the head of the smaller BiH entity flew to Croatia suddenly and in his recognizable style - by helicopter, but one belonging to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) of the Republic of Serbia - caused a particular stir in public.

This provoked a strong reaction in both Croatian and Bosnian-Herzegovinian public opinion. As expected, the standard no-holds-barred argument between the leaders of Croatia, Zoran Milanović and Andrej Plenković, was not absent.

In an interview with the Patria News Agency, military analyst Nedžad Ahatović says that Dodik's helicopter flight must have been announced to Croatian air traffic control days in advance, and that Milanović, by arranging this type of visit for Dodik, actually only humiliated his own office, the state of Croatia, and all its defenders from the Homeland War, especially those who gave their lives for the freedom of Croatian skies.

"His intention to continue the continuity of the insane Croatian-Serbian policy of dividing Bosnia and Herzegovina, which has been ongoing since 1939, with Dodik and Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, tramples on the honorable Croatian flags of victory in the military-police operation 'Oluja' (Storm)," says Ahatović.

According to him, this is a conscious distancing from the principles of the Split Agreement on the Croatian-Bosnian military alliance, which put an end to Milošević's plans for the creation of a 'Greater Serbia'.

"Croatia, under Milanović's leadership, is openly working on creating and spreading the Russian world, hosting Milorad Dodik, the biggest protagonist of this project in the region, in Serbian military helicopters," states Ahatović.

On the other hand, our interlocutor points out that it sometimes seems to him that Dodik is the real High Representative in BiH and that we are all hostages of his sudden temper and reckless behavior.

"He humiliates our political representatives by cursing genocide, and openly mocks and blackmails foreign ambassadors and representatives of international organizations with secession, which inevitably leads to destabilization and conflicts that everyone flees from like the plague, except for Minister Helez, who is the only one adhering to the letter of the law and thus de facto and de jure defending the foundations of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is his legal role as Minister of Defense," believes Ahatović.

One thing is certain, he adds, that if the Russian invasion of Ukraine were not currently taking place, Bosnia and Herzegovina would already be in an armed conflict. However, Ahatović emphasizes, all proponents of the secession of the RS entity from BiH should be clear about two things.

"First, the RS entity, according to the original Dayton Agreement, which politicians from Banja Luka often refer to, cannot legally or formally exist outside the framework of the state of BiH, just as the Federation of BiH cannot.

And second, like any country in the world facing dissolution and the violation of its state sovereignty and territorial integrity, the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a UN member, will defend itself by political, legal, and – I emphasize – all other permissible legal means," concludes Ahatović in his interview with Patria.
