Agencies on alert due to heavy rainfall announced for Sunday

(Patria) - Heavy rainfall is announced for BiH on Sunday. Meteorologists have issued a warning - they are announcing a red weather alert. A meeting will be held on this occasion at the Agency for the Sava River Water Area, on the initiative of the Federal Civil Protection Administration.

The meeting will discuss possible protective measures in case of potential floods. Everyone is warning that the rainfall on the night between Sunday and Monday could reach the levels of May 2014.

In addition to representatives of the FUCZ, the meeting will be attended by representatives of the Agency for the Sava River Water Area, the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute, and the Federal Institute for Geology.

"The adverse weather conditions predicted for our country next week are caused by cyclonic activity in our region, with predicted rainfall amounts calculated by forecasting models in the last 50-60 iterations ranging between 80 and 130 liters per square meter, locally more, and this applies to the period between May 12 and 15/16, with heavy rainfall predicted for May 13 and 14.

In accordance with all analyses, and supported by the warning issued by the Republic Hydrometeorological Institute of Republika Srpska to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, the FUCZ has started taking necessary measures in a timely manner to prevent a situation like the fatal one in 2014," said Nedin Sladić, meteorologist.
