SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Director of the Public Procurement Agency of BiH, Đenan Salčin, sent a letter today to the Federal Administration of Civil Protection, regarding the engagement of companies for the installation and maintenance of previously procured respirators, which they learned about from the media, as stated in their letter. They request that data be submitted on what type of procedure was conducted in the selection of companies, whether it was transparent, and whether the tender documentation was prepared in accordance with the law.
In a press release sent to the media, they state that with the intention of preventive action to prevent possible violations of the Law on Public Procurement, and given that, in the opinion of the public, this is one of the currently most important procurements, the Public Procurement Agency of BiH has launched another monitoring (tracking of the public procurement procedure) related to the procurement of respirators.
"Namely, yesterday information appeared in the media about the companies that will perform the installation and maintenance of respirators, to which we immediately reacted with a letter (attached herewith), requesting a detailed explanation of the procurement procedure carried out for respirator maintenance services. We also contacted the companies mentioned as providers of maintenance and installation services to submit information on the mentioned procurement.
Furthermore, we state that the Agency continuously works on monitoring public procurement procedures, and in the conditions of the coronavirus pandemic, it has intensified monitoring of procedures, especially negotiated procedures without prior publication of a notice based on urgency. We emphasize that over 300 procedures have been reviewed through monitoring and five criminal charges have been filed in the last 30 days alone.
We once again call on all those who learn or have information about potential described abuses in public procurement to report them to the Public Procurement Agency of BiH at email: [email protected], as such reports can also be submitted anonymously without revealing the identity of the reporter.
All potential abuses and violations of the Law on Public Procurement will be thoroughly reviewed, and if it is determined that there is a violation of the Law, criminal and misdemeanor charges will be filed against the responsible persons," the Agency states.
