23rd Anniversary: Remembering the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina that defended the country's independence

The Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina will celebrate its 23rd anniversary on Wednesday, April 15. The anniversary of the formation of the patriotic forces that defended BiH during the aggression has already begun to be marked, writes the Patria News Agency.

At the Kovači Martyrs' Cemetery, tribute was paid to the fallen members of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina by reciting Fatiha and observing a minute of silence.

- The Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina defended the integrity of the state of BiH. It defended the right for all of us to live in this country, and it is precisely the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina that deserves the most credit for the defense of the country, said member of the Presidency of BiH Bakir Izetbegović.

According to the Deputy Minister of Defense of BiH, Emir Suljagić, the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina was the only military force whose members came from all the peoples living in this country, and it is precisely primarily responsible for preserving the internationally recognized state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Numerous state and veteran association delegations laid flowers at the Kovali Cemetery.

In the early days of the aggression against our country, members of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina were almost entirely without equipment, weapons, experience, and general preparedness for what awaited them.

There was a lack of weapons to confront the far superior enemy, which also had heavy artillery belonging to the former JNA.
