20 YEARS SINCE THE RECONSTRUCTION OF THE OLD BRIDGE IN Mostar International Conference 'Dialogue for the Future' July 22 and 23

(Patria) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the reconstruction of the Old Bridge in Mostar, is organizing the first International Conference "MOSTAR 2024: Dialogue for the Future", which will be held on July 22 and 23, 2024, in Mostar.

The theme of this year's Conference, "Connecting the Past, Present, and EU Future", aims to foster dialogue and cooperation, as well as the future development and integration of the Western Balkans into the European Union.

The International Conference MOSTAR 2024: Dialogue for the Future represents an opportunity to promote reconciliation and coexistence by highlighting the Old Bridge and the Old Town of Mostar as symbols of multiculturalism and peaceful coexistence, and by encouraging dialogue on reconciliation and cooperation.

In addition to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the City of Mostar are participating in the organization of the 20th anniversary of the Old Bridge reconstruction and the "Mostar 2024: Dialogue for the Future" Conference, with the support of the United Nations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, UNESCO, the World Bank, the Center for Peace and Multicultural Dialogue, and numerous other partners.

As part of the Conference, on Monday, July 22, in the evening, a cultural performance and the throwing of flowers from the Old Bridge for all victims of all wars will be held for high officials and participants, followed by a ceremonial dinner of peace, hosted by the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, Denis Bećirović. The "Mostar Peace Connection" awards will be presented during the dinner.

On Tuesday, July 23, the Conference "Mostar 2024: Dialogue for the Future" will be held at the "Mepas" Hotel starting at 11 AM, bringing together distinguished high officials and participants, including presidents, prime ministers, and ministers, international and local decision-makers, representatives of the Western Balkan countries, officials and representatives of the European Union and the European Commission, representatives of UNESCO and cultural heritage experts, officials and representatives of the World Bank Group, academics and researchers, civil society leaders and NGOs, as well as media representatives and other participants.
