17-year-old Malala awarded Nobel Peace Prize

Malala Yousafzai and Kailash Satyarthi received the 2014 Nobel Peace Prizes at a ceremony in Oslo. At 17 years old, Malala is the youngest recipient of this prestigious award, reports the Patria News Agency.

Yousafzai said she could even aim to be the Prime Minister of Pakistan after finishing school in Great Britain, the BBC reports.

"I want to serve my country and my dream is for my country to become a developed country and to see every child get an education," the young activist emphasized.

Let us recall that Malala Yousafzai was shot and wounded in the head by the Taliban in 2012 for advocating for girls' education. She was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize together with the Indian children's rights activist Kailash Satyarthi.
