Zvornik: 23rd anniversary of the crime against Bosniaks of Snagovo, a two-year-old child also killed

The crime in the village of Snagovo, which occurred on April 29, 1992, was overshadowed by the attack on the police station in the center of Zvornik on Monday evening, in which a 24-year-old attacker killed one and wounded two police officers, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

Members of the Yugoslav People's Army and paramilitary formations, with the help of local Serbs, captured more than 800 residents of Snagovo at three locations, on this day 23 years ago. One group of 36 captured Bosniaks was executed in the place called Rašidov han, among whom were pregnant women, underage children (the youngest was two years old), the elderly, and adult men.

Esed Čivić, one of the organizers of the commemoration of the victims from Snagovo, told the Patria agency that the memory of the innocent victims of Snagovo will be marked today in the local mosque, and a large number of relatives and friends of the deceased Bosniaks are expected.

He hopes that today's commemoration of the victims will pass with dignity and peace, and does not expect any problems due to the attack on the police in Zvornik.

The crime against the civilians of Snagovo is one of the most brutal crimes committed against Bosniaks during the last aggression against BiH.

After they were killed, the mortal remains of twenty women, children, adult men, and the elderly were burned on a pyre the same day, in order to cover up the crimes, writes NAP.
