
BRUSSELS, (Patria) - Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdić met tonight in Brussels with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini. They discussed the situation in BiH and the latest developments on Bosnia and Herzegovina's European path.
EU High Representative Mogherini congratulated on the adoption of the excise tax laws as an important step for economic development.
Chairman Zvizdić and High Representative Mogherini agreed that Bosnia and Herzegovina must continue the positive momentum to move closer to the European Union. Zvizdić and Mogherini also exchanged views on the political situation in BiH. Chairman Zvizdić emphasized that BiH attaches exceptional importance to political dialogue with the European Union.
He informed the High Representative about the progress in the implementation of the Reform Agenda and the response to the European Commission's Questionnaire. He said that Bosnia and Herzegovina awaits with great attention the publication of the announced strategic document on enlargement and stressed that he believes the Strategy will reflect clear support for the enlargement perspective of the European Union to the Western Balkans.
Mogherini will meet tonight at an informal dinner with the prime ministers of the Western Balkan countries. This is the third meeting of its kind this year, and they will discuss developments in the region and prospects for the coming year. In addition to the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the prime ministers of Albania, Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, and Kosovo will also attend the meeting.
Zvizdić will also hold a press conference on Tuesday to speak in more detail about the meeting with Mogherini and his colleagues from the region.
