Zvizdić attended the opening of the Hranjen tunnel construction site

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Zvizdić attended today at the Hrenovice site the ceremony marking the start of works on the construction of the Hranjen tunnel, as part of the implementation of the Sarajevo-Goražde express road project.

Chairman Zvizdić said in his address that this is a project for all citizens of the Bosnian-Podrinje Canton, for the future of their children and the progress of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a prosperous European country in which they will live, the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.

He pointed out that the Council of Ministers has already launched an initiative towards the OPEC Fund to secure funds in the amount of 62 million euros and thus close the financial structure for the other two phases of the construction of the Sarajevo-Goražde express road. He added that this project is of exceptional importance for the further economic and social development of Goražde, the Bosnian-Podrinje Canton and eastern Bosnia.

The Hranjen tunnel, with a total length of about 6 km, and the planned express road will shorten the travel time on the Sarajevo-Goražde route to 45 minutes. The deadline for completion of works on the tunnel construction is 36 months.

The start of works on the construction of the Hranjen tunnel takes place within the program of marking March 1, Independence Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the Bosnian-Podrinje Canton Goražde.
