Zvizdić and Chinese Premier Keqiang Discussed Introducing a Direct Flight Between Sarajevo and Beijing

SOFIA, (Patria) - Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdić discussed the improvement of economic cooperation today in Sofia on the sidelines of the "16+1" Summit with the Premier of the People's Republic of China Li Keqiang.

Chairman Zvizdić said that BiH is extremely interested in continuing to further improve and strengthen ties with the People's Republic of China.

He expressed satisfaction that the "16+1" initiative is developing and strengthening, and emphasized Bosnia and Herzegovina's commitment to continuing cooperation within this mechanism. He stressed that a large number of significant agreements have been signed so far, such as visa abolition, which has opened new opportunities for connecting businessmen and stimulated investments, especially in the fields of energy and infrastructure, as well as tourism.

He added that our country is also interested in strengthening cooperation in the agricultural sector, which will be contributed to by the agreement signed today in Sofia.

Premier Keqiang expressed satisfaction with the encouraging results of the cooperation between China and Bosnia and Herzegovina so far. He added that Chinese companies are already present in BiH with projects and expressed the readiness of the Chinese side to improve cooperation in the field of transport infrastructure.

He highlighted the People's Republic of China's interest in better cooperation in the agricultural sector as well, and expressed hope that the "16+1" mechanism Veterinary Center will soon be established in BiH, in order to facilitate the export of agricultural products to China.

Premier Keqiang said that the opening of a direct flight between Beijing and Sarajevo is planned, which would facilitate the movement of people and goods and significantly improve tourist exchange.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Chairman and Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH Mirko Šarović, the Minister of Communications and Transport of BiH Ismir Jusko, and the Ambassador of BiH to Bulgaria Radomir Bogdanović.
