
Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdić, at the invitation of the host, Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey Ahmet Davutoğlu, visited Istanbul today, the Council of Ministers announced, reports the Patria news agency.
During their tour of the old part of Istanbul, the prime ministers also visited the Sultan Ahmet (Blue) Mosque where they performed the Friday prayer together. Chairman Zvizdić and Prime Minister Davutoğlu then walked through Sultan Ahmet Square, where they greeted the gathered citizens, and then, in Hagia Sophia, together with the President of the Directorate of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, Mehmet Gormez, opened the Aški Nebi exhibition of Islamic calligraphy, which was set up in the exhibition space as part of the celebration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad s.a.v.s.
At the opening of the exhibition, Chairman Zvizdić said that he was honored to have the opportunity to open an exhibition dedicated to Muhammad s.a.v.s. in a beautiful country and a wonderful city with friends. He emphasized that the life and deeds of Muhammad s.a.v.s. can still serve as a role model and moral compass today on how to treat others and those who are different.
The Aški Nebi exhibition consists of levhas made in the special calligraphic technique Hilje and Šerif. This technique, first used and presented by the famous calligrapher Hafiz Osman Efendi in the 17th century, depicts motifs from the life of Muhammad s.a.v.s. through images and calligraphic expression, as well as his spiritual portrait, the beauty and values of Islam, according to the statement.
