Zvizdić and Çavuşoğlu: Turkey strongly supports BiH's path to the EU and NATO

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdić met today with Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, reports the Patria News Agency.

Zvizdić informed Minister Çavuşoğlu about current political developments and acquainted him with the priorities of the Council of Ministers of BiH, emphasizing that these are European integration, economic development, and the rule of law.

He said that a positive period lies ahead for Bosnia and Herzegovina and that preparations are underway for the implementation of the Stabilization and Association Agreement. He also thanked for the continuous support that the Republic of Turkey provides to Bosnia and Herzegovina on its path to integration into the European Union and NATO.

Minister Çavuşoğlu congratulated Chairman Zvizdić and all members of the Council of Ministers on their appointment and wished them much success in their work. He expressed sadness and pain over the attack on the Police Station in Zvornik and offered his condolences.

He emphasized that Turkey strongly supports the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina and will continue to provide support in the process of integration into NATO. He highlighted the importance of soon assuming the presidency of the Council of Europe and announced his arrival at the ceremony in Brussels.

Chairman Zvizdić emphasized that the economic development of BiH is a top priority and that the next period will be dedicated to this segment, and that BiH will soon have its national program for economic reforms.

He also pointed out the benefits of investing in the energy, transport infrastructure, agriculture, tourism, education, and food sectors. He also said that in order to increase the number of Turkish tourists, it would be justified to establish a Sarajevo – Ankara air route.

The meeting was attended by Cihad Erginay, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to BiH, it was announced from the Council of Ministers of BiH.
