Zvizdić and Abramov: Improving Trade and Economic Cooperation between BiH and Russia

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdić received the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to BiH Petr Ivancov and the Director of the Russian Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology – ROSSTANDART and Deputy Chairman of the Intergovernmental Russian-Bosnian-Herzegovinian Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation, Aleksey Abramov, with associates, reports the Patria News Agency.

Chairman Zvizdić informed the guests about the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He stated that BiH is ready for the continuation of good cooperation with Russia in the fields of education and science, and that there is room for improvement in trade and economic cooperation.

 

Director Abramov said that the Russian government is striving to reduce trade barriers and bring the Russian economy closer to the world market.

Chairman Zvizdić and Director Abramov also discussed the possibilities of settling the clearing debt worth 120 million clearing dollars, which arose from the trade exchange between the former SFRY and the former Soviet Union. They agreed that this issue should be resolved by the end of the current year.

It was also agreed to prepare the signing of an agreement on avoiding double taxation and an agreement on promoting foreign investments. The interlocutors emphasized that the bilateral cooperation between the two countries is good and can be further improved, it was announced from the Council of Ministers.
