Zvizdić: BiH will soon get candidate status and MAP will be activated

SARAJevo, (Patria) - Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Zvizdić reacted to the SDP's stance today regarding the European Commission's Questionnaire.

- Regarding the information published in the media today and regarding the speculative letter sent by the SDP concerning the Questionnaire that Bosnia and Herzegovina is to submit to the European Commission, I am obliged to clarify a few facts for the public.

After eight years of blockade of the European and NATO path by parties that today most loudly express "false" concern, the Council of Ministers of BiH has managed to remove unprecedented delays and strongly accelerate BiH's European integration.

Precisely because of the aforementioned facts that this Council of Ministers of BiH has managed to compensate for the lack of responsibility and inaction of SDP cadres, the SDP is trying to convince the public of the correctness of their positions with malicious political statements, while concealing from the public the fact that the answers to the questions from the Questionnaire do not change laws, nor is anything accepted, nor do the answers to the questions have supremacy over the valid legal framework.

The Questionnaire is based exclusively on the principle of constitutional competencies, a high level of expertise, and a presentation of the current situation in the country. All of BiH's answers are based on these principles.

Due to all of the above, and especially due to the fact that Bosnia and Herzegovina stagnated during the SDP's rule while other countries in the region progressed, it would be necessary for the SDP itself to give the public a precise answer as to why they blocked our country's European and NATO path for eight years? Or an answer to the question of why the leading cadres of the SDP did nothing regarding the obligations that Bosnia and Herzegovina had, especially in the period from 2010 to 2015, related to EU integration? What did SDP cadres do regarding BiH's European integration at a time when Bosnia and Herzegovina's neighbors were making progress and gaining candidate status: Montenegro in 2010, Serbia in 2012, and Albania in 2014?

The answer is that SDP cadres did nothing regarding BiH's EU integration. Therefore, today's "concern" of the SDP represents the height of hypocrisy and a transparent attempt to make the citizens of BiH forget the catastrophic results of the SDP's rule, which will be remembered for the multi-year blockade of BiH's European path.

Even more drastic is the example of the SDP's blockade of BiH's NATO path, which was an obvious concession to SNSD as the then, and according to current information and secret meetings of the leaders of SDP and SNSD, also the current political partner. Namely, SDP cadres, then as now, were and remain "concerned" about the NATO process, but in order to appease their ally Dodik, they did not initiate the registration of even a single location as a condition for the activation of the MAP, which is why BiH could not progress on the path of NATO integration.

It is precisely the current Presidency of BiH and the Council of Ministers of BiH that have initiated and completed the registration of more than 30 military property locations, thereby creating the conditions for the activation of the MAP, as an extremely important step for BiH towards NATO integration.

Therefore, I want to repeat to the citizens of BiH, especially young people, the positive and joyful news that the Questionnaire will soon be submitted to the European Commission in Brussels, that BiH will receive candidate status, which will irreversibly confirm BiH's European perspective, the MAP will be activated for BiH, which will be the next and key step towards NATO integration and strengthening the environment of peace, security, and stability, and the citizens of BiH will, and this is the most important message for the chronically uninformed and politically motivated SDP, give the final verdict on the work of this government - stated Denis Zvizdić in his reaction.
