(Patria) - The Ministry of Defence of Latvia announced on Monday on Twitter that shots were fired at Latvian soldiers within KFOR in northern Kosovo.
“On Sunday, December 25, shots were fired at Latvian peacekeepers while they were patrolling in Kosovo,” the Twitter post stated, as reported by Tanjug.
Belgrade media reported that a shooting occurred last night in Zubin Potok, while Pristina-based Koha reported that a KFOR team was attacked in that location. The shooting reportedly took place near the site where local Serbs had set up barricades.
According to the Pristina newspaper, Latvian soldiers serving in KFOR were attacked, and there are no reports of injuries, nor is it known what they were attacked with.
