Zulfikar Ališpago detained at Cantonal Prosecutor's Office

SARAJevo, (Patria) - Zulfikar Ališpago was handed over to the Sarajevo Cantonal Prosecutor's Office on suspicion of attacking police officers in the Hadžići area.

The suspect Ališpago will, as the information officer at the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office Alem Hamzić told the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BIRN BiH), be detained for 24 hours, after which the prosecutor in charge will question him and decide on further measures.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton (MUP KS) previously announced that officers of the Traffic Unit arrested Ališpago due to grounds for suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of "assault on an official while performing security duties".

"During an intervention in Donji Hadžići street (Hadžići municipality), he physically assaulted police officers, causing minor injuries to one of them. The injured officer received medical assistance from the Sarajevo Canton Emergency Medical Service, and later at the University Clinical Center in Sarajevo," the MUP stated.
