Zukić wants to control the municipality of Visoko, Mayor Babić resists "attacks"

Visoko will soon become one of the largest construction sites in Bosnia and Herzegovina, writes the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

The construction of the residential settlement in Zimča near Visoko alone, in which the Bahraini company Abram Company is investing, will cost more than 20 million KM, with completion planned by the end of 2017, and the settlement will be built by BiH companies.

At the same time, about eight million KM will be invested in the road communication between Visoko and Kiseljak, the two main commercial towns in central Bosnia, and domestic construction companies will get the job.

The cultural center, worth several million KM, which Visoko received as a gift from the Turkish sister municipality of Altındağ, is in its final phase.

The city, which was once the backbone of the BiH economy, and which was almost completely destroyed during the last aggression against BiH, and especially due to poor post-war privatization, has begun to experience a sudden boom again after Amra Babić, the first mayor in Europe to wear a hijab, took charge of Visoko.

Her thrifty approach to the municipality, according to her associates, has led to several multi-million KM projects being initiated in this municipality in the last 12 months alone, and the unemployment rate has decreased to almost pre-war levels.

Well-informed sources from the Municipality of Visoko explain that Visoko is achieving enviable economic results despite the strong political scandals that have shaken this municipality in recent months, and which Mayor Babić skillfully hides from the public eye.

Sources claim that Halim Zukić, president of the Municipal Board of SDA Visoko and a close associate of Amir Zukić, the general secretary of SDA in Sarajevo, is trying to completely control the municipality of Visoko, but the mayor has proven to be a tough nut to crack, prioritizing the interests of the municipality and its citizens.

Zukić, according to sources close to SDA, for unexplained reasons, tried to stop the Arab investors, as well as some other important projects, whose investment will bring not only good for Visoko but also for neighboring municipalities.

- The job of a mayor is very creative and requires freedom. If the head of the municipality is hindered in any way, then it is not good. It is especially not good when you hinder a visionary like Babić – says this source.

INTRA-PARTY CONFLICT

Babić does not want to answer questions about the conflicts within the Municipal Board of SDA in Visoko. Halim Zukić, the president of the Municipal Board of SDA Visoko, denied the existence of disagreements within the municipal board of this party a few weeks ago, noting that the October elections will most clearly illustrate the situation in the Municipal Board of SDA Visoko. However, the real situation on the ground is completely different from what Zukić is trying to portray, because it is an open secret in Visoko that he is persistently trying to bring the mayor under his control, who does not want to play by his rules, writes NAP.
