Zubac held meetings with police agencies in catering facilities: Total bill 30,074 KM

The State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) spent more than 200,000 marks last year on accommodation for the Special Support Unit in East Sarajevo, even though it has a facility worth more than 25 million marks, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria (NAP).

Namely, auditors checking the agency's operations last year found that the special unit's accommodation involves a monthly lease of 1,117 m2 of space, costing 17,058 KM per month. It was not clarified why additional rent is being paid when SIPA is housed in a newly built facility whose construction cost more than 25 million marks from the budget.

Initially, it was planned to allocate 18 million KM for the construction of SIPA's headquarters in Lukavica, but over the years the value of the works has been constantly increased, and last year alone, almost one million KM was paid to the contractor Integral Inžinjering as part of an out-of-court settlement.

In addition, despite an overall positive assessment, auditors raised a number of objections to the management's work, particularly regarding entertainment expenses, which amounted to 63,606 KM. Half of that, 30,074 KM, was spent on external entertainment in catering facilities.

- By analyzing the costs, we noticed that working meetings with other police agencies in BiH were often cited as the reason, with costs incurred in catering facilities. Based on such explanations, it cannot be confirmed that they were incurred for a purpose typical for such expenses or in the function of promoting the Agency and its role in society - the auditors stated.

Furthermore, it was highlighted that managers spent 13,325 KM on internal entertainment at the Agency's headquarters.

- Although individual spending is within permitted limits and is monitored monthly, we also found that explanations regarding the reason for the cost are missing, and it can be concluded that the costs relate to the daily consumption of beverages that cannot be classified as entertainment - the report concluded.
