Crime in Jukićeva Street: Tribute paid to boys killed while playing in front of the building

Two shells fired from an aggressor's position around Sarajevo on April 27, 1993, killed three boys playing in front of their building at Jukićeva Street 132 in Sarajevo: Vedran Milas (1979), Amel Tarahija (1979), and Sakib Smajević (1977), reports the Patria News Agency.

In memory of the tragically killed boys, the Association of Parents of Murdered Children of Sarajevo during the Siege 1992-1995 organized a laying of flowers on April 27, 2016, next to the memorial plaque erected by the Association.

In addition to family members and friends, Mustafa Resić, advisor to Mayor Dževad Bećirević, attended the laying of flowers and tribute to the killed boys on behalf of the Centar Municipality.

Fikret Grabovica, president of the Association of Parents of Murdered Children of Sarajevo during the Siege 1992-1995, stated that the youth of Sarajevo were killed on April 27, 1993.

- Today, we remember and pay tribute to children killed in a terrible crime. The very thought that three innocent beings were killed in an instant is horrifying. On that day, three boys were playing in an abandoned vehicle and likely dreamed of driving a car one day. However, the criminals ended their dreams, Grabovica emphasized.

Students of the Elementary School 'Mehmed-beg Kapetanović Ljubušak' also paid tribute to the murdered boys by laying flowers in front of the memorial plaque, as announced by the Centar Municipality.
