Crime against Bosniak civilians: Radovan Paprica and Slavko Ognjenović arrested in Foča

FOČA, (Patria) - By order of the prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes in the Foča area, police officers of SIPA deprived two suspects of liberty for crimes against humanity.

The suspects are under investigation and are charged with committing crimes against victims of Bosniak nationality in the Foča area during 1992. The suspects are Radovan Paprica, nicknamed ”Papro”, born in 1953 in Foča, and Slavko Ognjenović, nicknamed ”Mačak”, born in 1965 in Foča.

"The suspects are under investigation by the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and are suspected of acting contrary to the provisions of the Geneva Conventions for the protection of civilian persons during war, during a widespread and systematic attack on the civilian population of Bosniak nationality in the Foča area and its surroundings, as members of the VRS. The suspects are charged with the criminal offense of crimes against humanity under Article 172 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the day, the suspects will be brought before the prosecutor in charge, who will examine them, and then make a decision on the proposal for a detention measure and further activities in the case," the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina stated. 

The Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina is working on a number of cases related to war crimes with elements of rape and sexual abuse, which are particularly sensitive cases, for committed war crimes that have left severe consequences on victims and injured persons.
