ZLATAN JELIĆ The BiH Prosecutor's Office is searching for him for war crimes, the Bishop of Sisak gives him his blessing!

Bishop of Sisak Vlado Košić, who drew public attention with controversial Facebook posts, the day before yesterday hosted convicted war criminal Dario Kordić and Zlatan Mijo Jelić, who is charged with war crimes against civilians of Bosniak nationality in the area of Mostar, at the Veliki Kaptol in Sisak.

The most influential Croatian portal Index.hr writes that the bishop expressed support for Kordić and Jelić, but also said that without Croatian soldiers in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, there would be no BiH today, in the face of Serbian aggression in the '90s.

However, this portal in the same article reminds that retired HVO general Zlatan Mijo Jelić is charged with war crimes and is currently on the run in Croatia. In the indictment published in Sarajevo, the 45-year-old Jelić is charged based on an investigation initiated by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) and subsequently handed over to the Bosnian-Herzegovinian judiciary.

Jelić is accused that, as commander of the 1st Active Battalion of the HVO Military Police and the 1st Light Assault Battalion of the Military Police, from May 1993 to March 1994, he acted contrary to the provisions of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions on the protection of civilians during armed conflicts.

Dario Kordić, among other things, is responsible and was found guilty of the war crime in the village of Ahmići, where HVO members on April 16, 1993, committed a crime against humanity. It was the largest massacre in the conflict between Bosniaks and Croats. The indictment against Kordić states that from approximately November 1991 to March 1994, Kordić, together with various members of the HDZ BiH, HZ HB / HR HB and the HVO and their leaders, armed forces and agents, caused, planned, incited, ordered or committed, or aided and otherwise supported the planning, preparation or execution of crimes against humanity, i.e., widespread or systematic persecution of Bosniak civilians on political, racial, national or religious grounds, throughout the HZ HB / HR HB and the municipality of Zenica, on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, NAP reports.
