ŽIVINICE - Cantonal Prosecutor's Office: Zijad Mujčinović shot his wife, then killed his son and himself

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - A tragedy occurred this morning in Živinice where an elderly man killed one person, wounded another, and then committed suicide.

In the family tragedy that occurred this morning in a family home in the village of Ciljuge near Živinice, two people were killed and one was seriously injured and hospitalized at the University Clinical Center in Tuzla, announced the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Tuzla.

The deceased were Admir Mujčnović (33) and Zijad Mujčinović (54), and Zada Mujčinović was injured.

The on-site investigation is being conducted by the duty prosecutor in cooperation with investigators from the Criminal Police Sector of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Tuzla Canton.

According to initial information from the scene, Zijad Mujčinović most likely used a pistol to shoot his wife Zada, wounding her, but she managed to escape the house, and he then fired several shots at his son Admir, killing him.

After that, he committed suicide.

"Currently, we do not have information about the nature of Zada Mujčinović's injuries," said the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Tuzla.

The investigation is ongoing, and all circumstances that led to this family tragedy are being determined.

Also, for now, they cannot reliably speak about the motives that led to this event.

After the investigation is completed and all relevant information is documented, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Tuzla Canton will submit a report to the Prosecutor's Office, and all other necessary investigative actions will be taken.
