Zenica: Female body found on the bank of the Bosna River, two persons arrested

The ZDK Ministry of Interior issued a statement regarding the discovery of a lifeless body on the left bank of the Bosna River, under the railway bridge, in the area of Blatuša in Zenica on April 3, 2016, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

- Immediately after receiving the report, police officers were dispatched to the location, who secured the scene until the arrival of the investigative team.

The duty prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of the Zenica-Doboj Canton was immediately notified of the incident, who, together with the investigative team of the Criminal Police Sector of the Ministry of Interior of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, arrived at the scene and led the investigative actions.

By order of the duty prosecutor, the lifeless body was transported to the morgue of the Zenica Cantonal Hospital, where an autopsy will be performed to determine the causes and circumstances of the person's death. 

During yesterday, in the area of Zenica, police teams deprived two persons of their liberty, who are being linked to the commission of the aforementioned criminal offense, and criminal processing has been initiated against them in official premises, while police officers continue activities to collect evidence and document the criminal offense.

On the same day, at 6:00 PM, officers of the Criminal Police Sector identified the person, and it was confirmed that it was a female person, initials M.F., born in 1970, from Zenica.

Officers of the Criminal Police Sector continue their activities within their jurisdiction, in accordance with the orders and instructions of the competent prosecutor, with the aim of determining all circumstances under which the person's death occurred, and documenting the committed criminal offense.

Aldina Ahmić, spokesperson for the ZDK Ministry of Interior, told Patria that two persons were arrested on Sunday.

- One in the afternoon, the other during the night. Criminal processing is being conducted against them, members of the ZDK Ministry of Interior are searching various locations to determine the circumstances of this criminal offense - said Ahmić. 

When asked whether the female person found had been tortured, Ahmić could not confirm that information.  

Incidentally, the ZDK Ministry of Interior had not received a report of a missing female person, and everything indicates that the murder occurred within just a few hours.
