Zenica gets budget, city to buy Rudar hotel

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The proposed Budget of the City of Zenica for 2022, worth 71,748,196.09 KM, was adopted at today's session of the Zenica City Council. 

Compared to the Draft Budget of the City of Zenica for 2022, total planned revenues and receipts in the Proposed Budget are higher by 459,172.59 KM or 1%. 

The proposed Budget of the City of Zenica for 2022 also projects an accumulated surplus of 2,180,000.00 KM.

The structure of revenues and receipts of the Proposed Budget for 2022 consists of city revenues and receipts planned in the amount of 62,520,196.09 KM and transferred funds from other levels of government - earmarked transfers planned in the amount of 9,228,000.00 KM.

The proposed Budget of the City of Zenica for 2022 plans a current budget reserve in the amount of 200,000.00 KM.

"The proposed Budget of the City of Zenica that you are considering today is more than 25 million KM larger than the budget when I took over the function of Mayor and leadership of the City. As is known, this budget was prepared under difficult conditions, but despite that circumstance, it is primarily stabilizing. We regularly settle obligations from previous debt, we allocate close to 12 million KM for social protection, we allocate about two million KM for education, over four million KM is foreseen for sports, culture and religious support, about six million KM is foreseen for environmental protection, and more than three million KM is planned for the development of economy and agriculture. 15,400,000.00 KM is foreseen for capital investments," stated the Mayor of Zenica, Fuad Kasumović.

Councilors also supported the Proposed Decision on the Execution of the Budget of the City of Zenica for 2022.

Furthermore, the Proposed Decision on determining the public interest for the purchase of the "Rudar" hotel facility with surrounding land, the old Miners' Hall facility with surrounding land, and the remainder of the land next to the hotel on which there is a residential building, for the purpose of adapting the subject parcels for the accommodation of the City of Zenica's administrative services and other bodies, was considered and adopted.

The Zenica City Council accepted the Draft Gender Action Plan of the City of Zenica for the period from 2022 to 2025.

The Gender Action Plan of the City of Zenica is a strategic planning document of the city which, through its implementation, should foster future growth and development of the community and improve gender equality in the community.

The public debate on the Draft Gender Action Plan of the City of Zenica will last for 30 days.

At the very end of the session, the Proposed Conclusion on the prohibition of parking fee collection within the Cantonal Hospital Zenica for the staff of the Cantonal Hospital, patients, and other users, which is currently collected by the Cantonal Hospital Zenica, was adopted, and this conclusion will take effect on February 1, 2022.
