Glovo completely shuts down operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina!

One of the most popular platforms for food and grocery delivery in Bosnia and Herzegovina is counting its last days on the domestic market. The company Glovo has officially confirmed that it is completely shutting down its operations and withdrawing from Bosnia and Herzegovina by August 10, 2026.

This sudden decision will leave hundreds of delivery drivers and partner restaurants facing a major business challenge.

Company management states that the reason for the withdrawal is the desire to redirect investments and focus on key markets with significantly higher growth potential. Glovo opted for this radical step in order to optimize operations and better serve millions of users in countries where it achieves more stable profits. Although the app in Bosnia and Herzegovina had a large user base in Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Mostar, and Tuzla, the economic calculation apparently favored more developed economies.

"We sincerely thank all our employees for their contribution and dedicated work over the years. We are committed to providing support to employees affected by this decision through this transition period," Glovo stated, with a firm promise to fulfill all remaining financial and legal obligations to domestic partners.

What does this mean for the delivery market in Bosnia and Herzegovina?

The sudden withdrawal of Glovo leaves a huge gap in the domestic fast delivery market, which will now have to be filled by remaining competitors such as Korpa or local delivery services.

Users in Bosnia and Herzegovina will have to quickly adapt to new applications, while restaurants lose one of their main sales channels. Glovo is ending its five-year adventure in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the August deadline marks the definitive end of an era in the digital economy of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The departure of yet another global brand from Bosnia and Herzegovina is not the best signal for foreign investors and brands. Many of them simply bypass our country due to the extremely complex administrative system and numerous aggravating circumstances.
