Woman injured near Brčko life-threateningly endangered, suspect arrested

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Brčko District BiH Police were informed today at 02:15 AM by the Emergency Medical Service that an unidentified female individual in the village of Gornji Rahić was wounded by a firearm and that they had dispatched an ambulance.

Immediately after the report, police officers went to the scene and took all measures and actions within their jurisdiction, determining that the injured person was Š..R., born in 1993 in the Federal Republic of Germany, residing in the settlement of Prutače, Gornji Rahić. After examination at the Brčko Public Health Institution, she was transferred to the University Clinical Center Tuzla due to the severity of her injuries and is life-threateningly endangered.

An investigation was conducted at the scene, and by order of the Basic Court of Brčko District BiH, two residential buildings were searched, and the wider area was examined, during which traces relevant to the criminal proceedings were found and seized.

During the investigative actions, grounds for suspicion were established that the crime was committed by an individual with the initials H.O., born in 1989 in Bijeljina, residing in the settlement of Prutače. The individual H.O. was deprived of liberty on grounds of suspicion of committing the criminal offense of "Murder" under Article 163 in conjunction with Article 28 of the Criminal Code of Brčko District BiH (Attempted Murder), and will be handed over to the further jurisdiction of the Brčko District BiH Prosecutor's Office along with the report.
