WOMAN DIES AFTER BEING HIT BY CAR Witnesses lied about the cause of death, Sarajevo Cantonal Prosecutor's Office to decide on criminal liability

(Patria) - So far, only one person has been detained in connection with the traffic accident that occurred on April 2nd, and 57-year-old woman M.B. died from the injuries sustained. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton confirmed that the duty prosecutor of the Sarajevo Cantonal Prosecutor's Office has been notified, and police officers from the Traffic Investigations Department have taken over the operational material and the suspect for further processing due to the criminal offense of Serious Offenses Against Public Traffic Safety /Art. 366, para. 2 of the Criminal Code of FBiH/.

Two individuals (H.O. and A.O.), who initially gave a statement that the unfortunate woman had fallen while running and also called emergency services, admitted during a new interrogation that the woman had been hit by a car. It is not yet known whether these two individuals will also be prosecuted for providing false information, and the acting prosecutor will make a decision on the matter.

As Patria has unofficially learned, the deceased woman, the witnesses, and the arrested driver are all from the same street, Ruđera Boškovića.

Given the severity of the injuries sustained by the deceased, doctors at the Neurosurgery Clinic of the University Clinical Center Sarajevo (KCUS) expressed suspicion that these injuries were caused by violent means, which prompted the police to investigate the case.
