Woman from Bosanska Gradiška Falsely Reported a Robbery, Faces Up to Two Years in Prison?

Gradiška police officers encountered an unusual situation. A woman (63) reported that on Tuesday, around four in the morning, an unknown man broke into her house, after which he stole 40 KM, under threat, reports the Patria news agency.

However, the police soon suspected it was a false report, after which the woman could be charged with „False Reporting of a Criminal Offense“. It has not yet been determined with certainty whether the woman falsely reported the robbery, nor the reasons why she did so.

The duty prosecutor of the District Prosecutor's Office in Banja Luka was informed of the entire case and ordered that the person be questioned as a suspect.

If it is proven that the woman falsely reported this case, she faces a fine or a prison sentence of up to two years, reports Patria.
