(Patria) - An earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale hit the United States today.
Tremors were felt in the wider area of New York and New Jersey, reported the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).
EMSC initially reported the quake as 5.5 on the Richter scale. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers.
RIA Novosti reported that the United States Geological Survey (USGS) announced the earthquake's magnitude was 4.8.
For now, there is no information about potential casualties or material damage.
