Earthquake caused landslide: Four young men died at Dubrave Surface Mine

Adel Šehić, Alem Dedić, and Arif Alibašić lost their lives in a landslide at the Dubrave Surface Mine after an earthquake that struck the area last night at 10:21 PM, reports the Patria News Agency. According to statements from the sole survivor, there were five men at the mine, so it is presumed that another young man remains buried under the earth.

These were illegal coal miners. Members of the Kreka Mine rescue team attempted to reach their bodies, which are under large amounts of earth, but gave up due to poor visibility.

Since this morning, machinery has been at the site of the young men's deaths, used to excavate the earth and recover their bodies.

The Dubrave Surface Mine is part of the Kreka Mine. Lignite is extracted there.
