The National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina Celebrated its 136th Birthday

(Patria) - The National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina is celebrating its 136th birthday today, which it traditionally celebrates together with its visitors. It is the oldest modern Western-style cultural and scientific institution in our country.

In addition to the permanent exhibitions in all three departments, additional content has been prepared for all ages.

The 136th anniversary of the founding of the cultural and educational institution, the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was marked with a day-long program, which began with the presentation of the Haggadah to the public.

The central event is the new permanent exhibition "Amphibians and Reptiles of BiH", authored by Adnan Zimić, reports BHRT.

In the history of the Museum, this is the first time that all discovered species of herpetofauna have been presented in one place, in their natural habitats.

The story of endangered biodiversity and species coexistence continued through the extraordinary Imagine exhibition "EX-SITU", by the Austrian Cultural Forum.

Artists present their interpretations of folk tales about snakes, including artist Lala Raščić, who conceived her work with the help of the curator of the Ethnological Department.

The promotion of the Herald of the National Museum of BiH, the oldest scientific journal in Bosnia and Herzegovina, was also a focus of the birthday celebration.

The day-long program, filled with numerous interesting events and free admission for citizens, was an opportunity not to be missed.

The program also included two workshops for children, "I'm Writing to You in Bosančica" and "Treasure Hunt".

The celebration of the 136th birthday, together with the visitors, took place in a festive, educational, and fun atmosphere, all with the aim of learning and acquiring new knowledge.
