SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić condemned the act of destroying the monument to killed Croats in the village of Briševo near Prijedor, calling it a vandalistic act and an act of hatred directed against the small returnee community in the BiH entity of Republika Srpska.
„Briševo near Prijedor is a symbol of the suffering of Croats, who were killed by members of the so-called Army of Republika Srpska at the beginning of the aggression against BiH in 1992, as part of the project of ethnic cleansing of Bosniaks, Croats, and other non-Serb nationals from those areas,“ Komšić stated.
Member of the BiH Presidency Željko Komšić called on the authorities and police of Republika Srpska to find the perpetrators of this misdeed as soon as possible, otherwise, he will consider this an act aimed at sending a message that Croats have no place in that entity.
He also added that never again, in these areas, should any Tomašica be repeated, stating that he does not understand the decades-long silence of the so-called legitimate representatives of Croats about the crimes committed against the Croats of Prijedor.
