(Patria) - The state of emergency has significantly affected the ability to move goods smoothly, which has endangered the delivery of raw materials that are a prerequisite for continuous production. Excellent cooperation and commitment between the railways of the Federation of BiH and the Republika Srpska have successfully ensured the smooth transport of raw materials between the Port of Ploče and the Agro-Industrial Complex Brčko.
"Thanks to Džafić, representing the Railways of FBiH, and Gligorić, representing the Railways of RS, who are mobilizing all available technical and human resources and making enormous efforts to ensure the delivery of goods to factories across BiH, the sugar production in Brčko is not endangered, and raw materials from the Port of Ploče are being transported by rail to the only sugar refinery in the country," said Ekrem Hanić, Vice President of the Management Board of STUDEN Holding and Director of the logistics company BELISAR.
Hanić also emphasizes that the railways have placed themselves entirely at the disposal of their partners, and have successfully covered a major challenge in the movement of goods that arose from the interruption or obstruction of many supply chains.
"Despite our drivers not leaving their trucks and thus bringing food, raw materials, and other necessary materials to BiH, road transport is very difficult, and the queues at the borders are kilometers long. This leads to delivery delays, and consequently to deviations in production plans and market supply. Therefore, such a response from the Railways of the Federation and RS has brought great relief in carrying out logistical tasks, and security in the production of basic foodstuffs such as sugar. Also, the cooperation with the Port of Ploče and Croatian Railways is excellent, and they have risen to the occasion in these crisis times with their organization," Hanić stated.
By deepening cooperation, connecting international routes, and reacting promptly to the situation, railways, ports, and logistics companies are ensuring the stability of supply for Bosnia and Herzegovina and the surrounding countries.
