Zelenskyy: World must help Iran bring about change

(Patria) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said last night that the world must help Iranians bring about changes that will free them from a government that has brought evil to their country and others, including Ukraine, Reuters reported.

Zelenskyy, speaking in his nightly video address, described the nationwide protests that have swept Iran as an "uprising."

He said the unrest shows that Russia must reconsider its close ties with Iran, which include the widespread use of Iranian Shahed drones in the nearly four-year war against Kyiv.

"Every normal person on Earth very much wants the people of Iran to finally be lucky enough to free themselves from the regime that exists there and that has brought so much evil, including to Ukraine and other countries," Zelenskyy said.

"It is important that the world does not miss this moment, when change is possible. Every leader, every country, international organizations must now engage and help people remove those responsible for Iran, unfortunately, being what it is."
