Zelensky at UN: Terrorists have no right to hold nuclear weapons

(Patria) - The first man of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, also addressed the United Nations (UN) General Assembly.

Zelensky stated that "Ukraine renounced its third-largest nuclear arsenal."

"The world then decided that Russia should become the guardian of such power. Yet history shows that Russia most deserved nuclear disarmament. And Russia deserves it now," said the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, adding:

"Terrorists have no right to hold nuclear weapons."

He also accused Russia of investing all revenues, from food to energy, into weapons.

The full-scale Russian invasion has drawn widespread condemnation at this UN assembly as well.

In a speech largely focused on the danger Russia poses to the entire world, he argued that other common challenges, such as climate change, can only be properly addressed once Moscow is "pushed back."

He accused Moscow of committing genocide by abducting Ukrainian children.

In March, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin over the alleged illegal deportation of Ukrainian children to Russia.

The Ukrainian president further warned against "murky deals" aimed at ending the war, the largest in Europe since World War II, on unfair terms.

The key point of his speech was to warn the international community that the outcome of the war will affect everyone.

Recall that more than 190 world leaders are gathering at the United Nations General Assembly.
