Zelensky to Trump: Gaza ceasefire is a model for ending the war in Ukraine

(Patria) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated US President Donald Trump in a phone call on his "outstanding achievement" in securing a ceasefire in Gaza.

Zelensky highlighted this agreement as an example that conflict cessation is possible in other parts of the world, including Ukraine.

During the conversation, which he described as very positive and productive, Zelensky drew a direct parallel between the situations.

- If a war can be stopped in one region, then other wars can certainly be stopped – including the Russian war – stated the Ukrainian leader.

The two presidents also discussed Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy system and ways to strengthen the country's air defense.

Zelensky stated on social network X that concrete agreements are being worked on to ensure this.

In the end, he said that a diplomatic solution requires will from the Russian side, which can be achieved through strength.

- Readiness of the Russian side to engage in real diplomacy is needed – this can be achieved through strength. Thank you, Mr. President," Zelensky added.
