(Patria) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky commented on the decision of the International Criminal Court in The Hague to issue an arrest warrant for the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin.
“The International Criminal Court has issued an arrest warrant for Putin. A historic decision that will begin historic accountability. The head of a terrorist state and another Russian official have been officially suspected of war crimes – for the deportation of Ukrainian children – the illegal displacement of thousands of our children to Russian territory.
Such a criminal operation would not have been possible without the order of the highest leader of the terrorist state. Separating children from families, depriving them of any opportunity to contact their relatives, hiding children on Russian territory, scattering them to remote regions – all of this is clearly Russian state policy, state decisions, state evil, which begins with the first official of this state,” he added.
He thanked Karim Khan and the team of prosecutors of the International Criminal Court, as well as everyone around the world who, as he stated, “is helping Ukraine fight for justice.”
“Grateful for the principle and the readiness to bring those who are guilty to justice. Glory to all who are now fighting for Ukraine! Glory to all who are helping us protect our people!” Zelensky concluded.
