(Patria) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that he is ready to give up his position if it means peace in Ukraine and that he could trade his position for Ukraine's entry into NATO.
Zelensky said he wants to see US President Donald Trump as Ukraine's partner and more than just a mediator between Kyiv and Moscow.
"I really want it to be more than just mediation. That's not enough," he stated.
Zelensky added that talks about an agreement with the US on Ukraine's mineral resources are progressing and that "everything is fine".
He specified that the draft agreement envisages Ukraine returning two dollars to America for every dollar it received as aid.
Zelensky emphasized that he refused to admit that Ukraine owes America 500 billion dollars for war aid provided by Washington to Kyiv, an amount often cited by US President Donald Trump.
The Ukrainian president said that grants should not be viewed as loans.
He stated that it is logical for him that the presence of American troops in Ukraine would be a security guarantee if an agreement on minerals is reached.
He said that Ukraine is yet to receive a military aid package worth 15 billion dollars.
