(Patria) - The Russian Ministry of Defense announced today a ceasefire with Ukraine from midnight on May 8 to May 10, on the occasion of the anniversary of the defeat of Nazi Germany in World War II.
"During the celebration of the 81st anniversary of Victory Day, from midnight on May 8 to May 10, the Russian side declares a ceasefire," the Ministry announced on Telegram.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated today that Russia's limited ceasefire exposes the "strange and inadequate" logic of its leaders.
- They want Ukraine's permission to hold their parade, to safely take to the square for an hour once a year, and then continue to kill our people and wage war.
The Russians are already talking about strikes after May 9. A strange and certainly inadequate logic of the Russian leadership - Zelenskyy said.

Zelenskyy also said that the United States can best maintain peace in Europe, as it did during World War II, showing a "just and strong stance against the aggressor".
The Ukrainian president said earlier today that Russia continues to ignore the ceasefire proposed by Ukraine starting May 6.
A list of potential targets for a "retaliatory strike" on Kyiv was published on Russian state television Russia 1 in case of "disruption of the parade" for Victory Day in Moscow on May 9.
The list includes key institutions of the Ukrainian state, as well as numerous foreign embassies located in the very center of the capital.
Russian television graphically displayed the locations that Moscow considers legitimate targets for retaliation in the report.
