The administration of Joseph Biden has been seeking a new aid package for Kyiv for months, which includes $60 billion in military and economic assistance. The Senate approved it with a Democratic majority, but it remains blocked in the House of Representatives.

Its adoption is not approved by Republicans close to Donald Trump, who refuse to consider the text due to a dispute over another issue - immigration.

Exhausted by the two-year Russian invasion, Ukraine is fighting on the front lines against the Russian army, which outnumbers it in soldiers, weapons, and ammunition. Russian forces have advanced on several fronts in eastern Ukraine in recent weeks.
