
(Patria) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed five high-ranking military officials, completing the team of the new commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian army, Oleksandr Syrskyi.
Zelensky spent yesterday in meetings with military leaders and the government, saying that "commanders who have fought in the war should take on new duties."
The new names at the top of the Ukrainian military are Vadym Sukharevskyi, Andriy Lebedenko, Volodymyr Horbatyuk, Oleksiy Shevchenko, and Mykhailo Drapatyi.
Today was full of important meetings. We continue to renew Ukraine's defense and security forces. The team is effective. Changes will follow.

Syrskyi, who was the commander of the ground forces, was promoted on Thursday to the position of commander-in-chief, replacing Valeriy Zaluzhnyi.
On Friday, Zelensky appointed Major General Anatoliy Barhylevych as the new Chief of the General Staff, following the dismissal of Serhiy Shaptala.
