Healthcare workers do not give up on demands for salary increase

(Patria) - Members of the Healthcare Workers' Union of Sarajevo Canton came out today for a peaceful one-hour protest in front of the Sarajevo Canton Government building. Several thousand healthcare workers continued their general strike yesterday, temporarily "frozen" due to the coronavirus pandemic, and withdrew from triage.

Edo Selimić, president of the Healthcare Workers' Union, said that they have abandoned the demands for retroactive application of the agreement from January 1st of this year, and the demands for the agreement to be titled "branch", but that the issue of coefficient harmonization is something they will not give up on, that it is a point they will not cross.

"We expect the Government's stance. We will see, as they vote - we will know who is against the heroes in white," Selimić said today.

The KS Government gives and signs a collective agreement with the doctors' union, so the question is why not with them too, ask the gathered people, who note that they have been on strike since September 2019, but have been performing 80 percent of the work.
