Due to frequent attacks, procurement of metal detectors sought for railway stations

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - A member of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Aida Baručija, submitted an initiative instructing the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina to conduct a security analysis of technical equipment at railway stations in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

As she stated in the explanation, this initiative arose primarily due to frequent attacks.

“Due to increasingly frequent attacks, primarily with cold weapons, both on citizens and officials, the feeling of insecurity among passengers when they are at railway stations, and the growing influx of migrants into our country, I believe it is necessary to conduct this analysis and ensure all necessary technical conditions (primarily the procurement of metal detectors), especially at railway stations in Sarajevo and Bihać,” Baručija stated.

Incidentally, the primary means of transport for migrants are trains, which migrants use to travel from Sarajevo to Bihać. In the winter period, these “journeys” are reduced, but the relevant commission, as well as the members of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, will decide on the aforementioned initiative.
