Due to suspicion of collecting fictitious claims from Željezničar: Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office orders investigation against Amar Osim

(Patria) - The Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office has ordered an investigation against former FK Željezničar coach Amar Osim, Istraga.ba has learned. Osim, according to our sources, is expected to be summoned for questioning soon, after which a prosecutorial decision will be made, i.e., a decision on whether to file an indictment.

Amar Osim is suspected, according to Istraga's information, of fictitiously presenting claims against FK Željezničar, thereby damaging the Club by about half a million marks.

"The investigation so far has established that Amar Osim collected about half a million marks from FK Željezničar based on alleged claims from the Club. However, there is no evidence in the club's documentation that Osim actually lent this money to Željezničar. Therefore, there is no trace that he gave the money, but there are traces that the money was returned to him," states one of Istraga's sources.

However, according to unofficial information, the investigation covers a period from about ten years ago. Amar Osim, we remind you, filed lawsuits against FK Željezničar several times, but the outcome of these lawsuits has never been published.

"Maybe someone thinks that if I coach the club, I will give up my money. I never will. I have obligations to my children and to my career, where I did something and earned money, and then took it out of my pocket and brought it to the club. I have two sons and a family, and I will not say that I am giving up on that money. I don't see anyone ever saying they would give up so much money, and there were many richer people than me, and they all duly returned their debts. Now the problem is that Amar wants his money back. Yes, he will get it back. He will fight with hands and feet to get it back. Because Amar gave it," Osim said in an interview for the portal Klix in 2019.

Shortly before that, in 2019, the management of Željezničar announced that Amar Osim had sued the Club for claims amounting to about 400,000 KM.

"The club recently received a payment request of 400,000 KM from Mr. Amar Osim on behalf of a lawsuit. Immediately upon receiving the lawsuit, our legal team began protecting our interests. I am firmly convinced that we will emerge victorious from this race and that Mr. Osim's lawsuit will be dismissed," said Nihad Selimović from FK Željezničar at the time.

According to Istraga's information, the management of Željezničar filed a report with the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office a year and a half ago, and shortly thereafter, an order to conduct an investigation was issued, as there is a well-founded suspicion that Osim collected debts that did not even exist.
